About Sami Khal
Sami Khal immigrated to America in 1968 when he was 3 years old, and is the youngest of 8 children. Sami moved to Las Vegas in 1985 and attended UNLV, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He worked his way through college and received his first promotion while still in school. Years later, Sami was promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager of a multi-million dollar business and helped manage a very large employee base. His experience in budgeting, human resources and many other business disciplines would serve to provide him with a solid foundation as a manager and a leader.
Sami is husband to Karen, who is also a graduate of UNLV and has served the people of Southern Nevada as a Hospice and Oncology Nurse. His 3 daughters are all Runnin' Rebels as well. Courtney is a graduate of UNLV and is a teacher in the Clark County School District. Kathleen and Janie are students at UNLV, and, like their sister, have been on the Dean's List for academic excellence. We are proud to be a Rebel Family!
Sami's interest in politics began when he was in the first grade and was voted class President. Later he would continue his love of politics with a successful run for Student Body President of Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. Soon after graduating from UNLV, Sami and Karen were married and started a family. As with all new families, their challenges were many, and his focus was to provide for his wife and children, putting aside his passion for politics.
In 2011, while Sami was undergoing chemotherapy, a proxy war on Syria began. Sami's elderly parents and 2 brothers were in Syria living in a thousand year old Christian village as generations before them. As politicians began their war mantra, Sami knew what was behind the extremist element in Syria and prayed for sanity amongst our politicians. It was during this time, as Sami was undergoing treatment and under a great deal of stress not only because of his health, but with tremendous worry about his family's well-being in Syria that Sami first had renewed interest of following his dream of running for public office and bringing sanity to our political system.
The purpose of Sami Khal's bid for office is not about Syria, but rather, it is all about fixing our broken political system that has no accountability and does not represent the will of the American people. With your support Sami can work toward fixing our political system and take back our Country from special interest groups and lobbyists.
Sami is a staunch advocate of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, a strong military, an audit of the Federal Reserve, and holding politics accountable. As a Christian, Sami supports Pro-Life, small government, and demands secure borders, and a life free of Government interference, overregulation, and unlimited surveillance. Sami believes that the most important issues facing our wonderful Country are the lack of transparency in government, out of control debt, out of control health care and the economy. Sami's dream is to give all of our children the opportunity that America is known around the world for; a place where hard work can make dreams come true, and where people can live free.
